Wondering why this bar is called Whitehart? The ‘hart’ is an archaic word for ‘mature stag’. The white hart is a creature of myth and legend - The French used to believe that if you harmed a white hart, you would be cursed with the pain of unrequited love! The Scots saw it as a symbol of purity and good fortune.
